We have today some media opinion to bring forth. Firstly, even though at times Lorrie Goldstein, of the Ottawa Sun, disappoints me and I write about it, there is no doubt about his latest editorial. It is what we need to do. I give it to you in it’s entirety. It is entitled:
Rise up, Canada, and kill this deal
Only the Canadian people can now stop this shameless power grab by the Liberals and NDP, operating in cahoots with the separatist Bloc Quebecois.
The first step is for Prime Minister Stephen Harper to ask Gov. Gen. Michaelle Jean to prorogue or temporarily suspend Parliament until next month, when the Conservative government can present a budget on Jan. 27.
This will give Canadians time to weigh in with their MPs on whether they want the Liberal/NDP/Bloc accord to make Liberal Leader Stephane Dion, massively rejected by voters in an election just seven weeks ago, prime minister by stealth.
Everyone opposed to this back-room deal, which doesn’t say what the Liberals and NDP have promised the separatists in return for support, must immediately urge the Governor General, respectfully, to grant Harper’s prorogation request, if and when he seeks it. Jean’s office can be reached by e-mail at info@gg.ca, by phone at 613-993-8200, toll free at 1-800-465-6890, fax at 613-998-8760, or mail at Rideau Hall, 1 Sussex Dr., Ottawa, K1A 0A1.
Many constitutional experts say Harper is on much stronger ground to ask Jean to prorogue Parliament so he can return with a budget in late January.
Granting Harper’s request for an election when the government falls — as seems inevitable — on Monday, unless there’s a prorogation, would be the most democratic thing to do.
It would allow Canadians to say if they approve of the Liberal/NDP/Bloc accord. But Jean would be a bit (not completely) constrained by precedent to grant the Liberals, NDP and Bloc a chance to govern if it comes to that.
By contrast, allowing Harper to suspend Parliament over the Christmas/New Year holiday isn’t radical, since the coalition could vote to defeat the budget in January and bring down the government.
The difference is that by then, Canadians will have had the chance to make their views fully known to Parliament — the last thing the Liberal/NDP/Bloc coalition wants.
That’s why they’re trying to ram this through. And it’s why we must stop them.
Some other journalists have risen to the occasion and I direct you to them below.
Also, please do not miss one of the Blogging Tories favorite bloggers, give you her daily “take” on the Canadian political scene, along with interesting commentators.
Jack, at Jack’s Newswatch has two interesting columns. One he featured today entitled, Opposition plan to topple tories angers Albertans and another he wrote himself entitled, Another Harper trap snaps shut. I love how he writes and wish he would post a lot more.
Let me also draw your attention to Crux-of-the-matter blog How to stop seditious Liberal/NDP/Bloc Coalition
Werner Patels has made public his emailed letter to the Governor-General. View it here.

Stephen Le Drew, National Post -
Stephen Taylor had an interesting video clip where he muses “Coalition Cracks”?

Jeffrey Simpson – The Globe and Mail -
This blogger shares with you her letter emailed to the Governor-General.
Her Excellency
The Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, C.C., C.M.M., C.O.M., C.D.
Governor General of Canada
Excellency:
I am sure this email joins many others you have received.
As a Conservative voter and supporter I wish to have my say before you make your decision as to how all this should proceed.
It would seem to me the choice is obvious. On the one hand we have an elected government already in place, who have been working on the mandate of the people for more than two years. Their fresher and stronger mandate recently from Canadians was a relief and they got down to work from the first day of this new parliament. Our Prime Minister was consulting with Premiers of Provinces and also attending meetings in Canada, the United States and Europe.
I see no evidence that they are not doing their job. Furthermore, it would be irresponsible of them to throw out money, as is the opposition demand, on this and that business or industry until the dust settles with our largest trading partner. All the fixes the Conservative’s can think of have been put in place and more are coming. The opposition members know very well that the Conservative Government has handled our finances well as evidenced by world opinion.
Please let this Prime Minister deliver his budget in January as scheduled. Do not take a chance on a band of men and women from the opposition parties who have so quickly tried to seize the moment and power. You would find many problems with this coalition as this union would always be beholden to 49 seats of the Bloc. This alliance cannot get anything done without the separatists approval.
This is not the recipe for a stable Canada.
We are also told in recent days, that this alliance was conceived well before the election. Their reasoning then to “take over” is a sham and in my opinion is down to pure individual member’s agendas. They speak as if they are a unified group but many discrepancies appear within the various camps as one watches this all unfold. I wonder what promises were made to bring all three onside. Promises made when none of these individuals have any idea of what is available to “promise”.
Canadians spoke on October 14. The man they wanted to steer the ship is in place and has more current experience than any of the coalition members. Canadians do not like Mr. Dion and let that be very well known. It is now alleged that Mr. Dion is planning to bring in Elizabeth May to Ottawa, via the Senate, and then to be brought into a cabinet position. Canadians were very clear on what they wanted from Elizabeth May. They said “no thank you”.
There was no problem with our present government but in the minds of ambitious opposition members. These impatient men and women have led us to the crisis you are now asked to solve. In my opinion there is no stability, no reassurance that they will be a strong alliance in all the decisions and events that rule Canada’s every day life. If the Bloc does not approve, where are Canadians then?
I would rather the people were consulted again, but I would not mind it at all if you soundly rebuked all parties and sent them back to work.

I just wish we had a email after ever editorial to tell them it was good, or at least to comment to the editor. I really like the one this morning from Stephen LeDrew, but really find it hard to reply to him.
Maybe they just don’t want comments back.

I am really getting sick and tired over how the media in this country is gleefully cheering for this cabal of losers (even if they say they don’t, their comments and the looks on their faces belie their words) I am sick and tired over how they are blaming Harper for something that has obviously been in the works for months and was inevitable. I believe many in the media were complicit in it’s inception.
Given how Canadians have risen up and suddenly become interested in politics; maybe those in the media need to get some of that rage for not reporting the whole truth; for letting their Hatred of Harper overshadow their pledge to be fair and balanced.
I found their so called mission statement which if you read it certainly doesn’t sound like the media I have been listening to.

It is now time to turn our anger to the media and how they treat Conservatives and demand better from them as well.

I am not surprised “Anon” that you will not reveal yourself. Your attacks on Beth are uncalled for and this blogger does not support your comments about her. She is welcome here with her view, as are you.

I also emailed the gg and others. Oh as far as the 3 wisemen from the east, I think the 3 stooges is more like it.The opposition parties revealed their lack of integrity and thirst for power. Hopefully the nation will see it clearly for what it is.
I really do wonder if this is treason.
TREASON PERHAPS? Canadians must speak up and cut the strings of these puppets. And the biased media need to eat crow.
Stop the lies. I am tired of hearing the majority of Canadians voted for Dion and Layton. No Canadian voted for a coalition government. NDP supporters were not voting for Dion and Liberal supporters were not voting for Layton. The two parties are in direct opposition idealogically. So get off it. Viscious power mongers think they can bamboozle the Canadian electorate. Even the Liberal party had no confidence in their leader and are in the midst of a leadership race and they think they can prop up their rejected leader in the Prime Minister’s seat until they choose who they want-to be our Prime Minister-not who the people elected Prime Minister. And the real joke is the NDP party will have seats with the Bloc in their pocket which means they will really have the mandate from the cheap seats. This scheme was contrived in the back rooms just waiting for an opportunity to rear its ugly head. If that can be proven wouldn’t you call it TREASON. Think about it.

This morning while the PM meets with the gg the media are puking their poison upon the nation. We really need to rise up against the media and let them know that we are tired of their bias, their lies, their pro-anyone other than Harper. Interviews are pouring out with Liberals, NDP’S etc. Justin Trudeau being given long winded interviews and they are grabbing anyone they can to try and bolster their bias. BUT-I do not believe that is the opinion of the majority of Canadians and we need to take back this country and demand that the newspapers, television and radio reporters, commentators etc stop feeding this nation propaganda with the intent of swaying the masses. I for one am sick and tired of it and we need to let the media know we have had enough of it.
