What part of the words Economic Update doth a budget mean…

Proof positive Canada, that the Liberals were lying in wait for the first opportunity to thieve and uproot what you voted in place. Dion gave us a hint in his supposed resignation speech. We should have taken it seriously, but it was so laughable a concept at the time. Ignatieff gave us further hints to the Liberals real intent by putting Stephen Harper as the target and rationale for a leadership race. “We must beat Stephen Harper”. The Liberal Members of Parliament have been rattling at the door of power for over two years because that is all they know. Put into the mix the ambitions of Jack Layton and you see before you the result. Pure hysteria gone wild with no real substance to it.
This is like a western movie, complete with “riders and guns, sans the sheriff’s badge”.
How does an economic review turn into an expected budget? That is what all of these opposition people were looking for on Thursday. A budget puts in stone the governments intent. Intent carefully planned, not put together in a hurry. The Conservatives have stated that early January we will see all of the plan. Stephen Harper got to work on Canada and the world crisis the minute he was elected back in. He has never stopped. The Finance Minister, even during the election process, was “on it”. They saw the writing on the wall a year ago and planned things out so that we are the only country ahead of the game. What part of all this does all three opposition parties not understand.
This is pure political game playing at our country’s expense. This is pure lunacy, denial of decency and an unabashed lust for power. This is not concern for Canadians. What is even more sad is the look of pure glee on liberal faces whom the media camera catches. They haven’t had this much excitement since Adscam. [ remember that? ] This is the scam the Liberals want to forget… Oh…. and Chretien is brokering a deal?..that just reminds me of Shawinigate.
These Members of Parliament are no shining examples for anyone to follow. Canadians did not send them to Ottawa to make war and throw their weight about. They were sent to Ottawa to get on with the business of running Canada and being cooperative in order to do so.
PLEASE CANADA…SEE THIS FOR WHAT IT IS.
It is….power hungry people no longer willing to wait.
We already have a good Captain of Canada’s ship and he is steering us to a good course and smoother waters. Other countries are charting their course on Canada’s example.
Be proud.
Stand firm.
Tell the Members of Parliament to get back to work and do their jobs as Canadians elected them to do.

”Liberals will be forced to go left to appease their coalition partners”
Done!
Fife just reported that Dion is doing the negotiating, and,
Dion caved to Dipper demand to drop the corporate tax cuts,
Dion caved to Bloc demand for more money for Quebec.
Isn’t this fun militany liberal. By the time Dion seizes the thrown, the Dippers will have absorbed the entire LPC, and scared every investor right out of the country.

Harper one of Canada’s biggest dimbulb PM’s ever. Couldn’t be happy with destroying unions, equal rights etc, had to get rid of all opposition parties at same time.
And oh yeah…forgot that Canadians are looking for some leadership re coming hard times. Time for a stand pat fiscal plan.
Only interested in politics, not running a country. Good riddance,

Sooner or later we will go back to the polls. At that time the Liberals will be reduced to non party status.
Bye bye Liberals. Canada will be far better off without corrupt, lying, stealing and deceitful politicians such as yourselves.

Cooking up a plan to take over the government with the BLOQ is TREASON. If the liberals think Canadians will support this crap they have something coming to them. There will be riots in the street if this happens. Riots.

Oh Ho, that hidden agenda again!!!!…taking away the equal rights for your crippled, black, lesbian aunt to marry?…just before the soldiers who are stationed on our street corners take her away to the concentration camp..? Those rights?
Please, won’t somebody think of the children? Harper is so ‘mean’..
Or…
Here’s one for you..PM Harper is a strong, capable leader that many in the world look to.Canada is the most stable country in the G8 thanks to initiatives started two years ago by Messrs. Harper and co.We will have no sub prime, nor banking meltdowns. We are going to record a (albeit slim) surplus. We have payed down billions on our debt. We have restored the worlds faith in Canada through Mr.Harper, and have started to rebuild our military, destroyed in part by the Liberals to achieve artificial surpluses..I know this is shocking to some, as those in perpetual opposition have never seen real leadership up close…
We are better off with Harper than with a coalition of Neo Marxists who WILL send us into a spiraling recession.I guess it must be nice to live in that rarefied air where any body but Harper means glee for the left while Canada suffers.
Shame on you, you do not deserve the citizenship you hold.

Harper blew it! He had the chance to give a serious economic update but he couldn’t resist sticking his finger in the eye of the opposition on an issue that they all could agree on.
It is now clear that he has lost the moral high ground and reinvigerated the libs. The suspected secret agenda of Steven Harper has always been his weak underbelly. I expect the libs will use this to their best advantage and we will lose the next election. Harper will need to be replaced, then or now, our choice.

When all of you militant lefties start seeing the economy slide into the toilet when your abomination of a coalition takes over, you won’t be laughing then. If you think this won’t negatively affect you, you are dead wrong. Then we’ll be saying we told you so, suckers.
Then it’s hello, Conservative Majority.

We are in full panic mode. We look like idiots. Taping and publishing private telephone conversations is illegal in Canada. Harper is being compared to Richard Nixon.
Anyway this works out we are screwed and it is all Steven Harpers fault. We will never get a majority now.
It’s like Jim Prentice planned it all but he didn’t.

I actually call it a Hugo-Chavez-style putsch sans military. Other than that, there is no difference between the opposition and the criminal regime of Chavez and similar bozos out there.

Hi CR, haven’t commented here lately but do visit almost daily, unless gone. Love this site. I have a few thought that haven’t been mentioned elsewhere. Why isn’t Danny boy getting some blame for this, if not for his ABC campaign we would have a majority. And, it is now proven you do not need Quebec to get one.
I do believe this coup has been planned for months, before the last election. Dion and gang were so sure of the fixed election date they did nothing but oppose or abstain, and plotted. I think PMSH got wind of it and pulled the plug but could not tell the cdn people the truth about the coup being planned. Then he had Jim give that stmt to bring all the rats to the top. Better now than after the budget etc. I also think he timed this to affect the Que election next week and maybe keep Charest from a majority.
One lib has already jumped ship and I think more will follow. What if the vote of confidence fails, where does that put the coup planners.
Here is a weird thought, (I have a reputation for such things) PMSH tell the GG that he would like to join the coalition. He would have the most mps so would be PM and with the most members could get his agenda thru the caucus. No opposition.
The result of all this deal making with Duceppe could lead to a referendum in Que that all cdns should be allowed to vote on. Goodbye Quebec.
How many quebecers beieve like the boob girl does, that separation would be great as Quebec could quit sending AB all those cheques.
(boob girl, you know the girlfriend who kept those files, can’t think of her name)
And finally, my daughter is not political in any way, other than voting. She has e-mailed and faxed the GG, senators, mps, leaders, and even some leaders of other countries asking them not to recognize the illegal govt of Canada if the coup d’etat succeeds. Called me for info on reaching the White House. I bet she is not the only one fighting back.
She was looking for Obama’s e-mail also.
CNN has picked up the story.

Just noticed the time and date on my post. It is only 9.10 p.m. here in Alberta so am not a night owl.
Did you notice that Dion did not have a flag in sight when he made is stmt tonight. CTV didn’t wait for him so never ran it. Also notice the title of the book behind him, Hot Air.
And, there were no flags at the signing of the agreement between the 3. I saw it. Who photoshopped the flags in later.
