Dion shrugs and asks "why"? regarding french citizenship

This is a quote from the latest on Opposition Leader “Dion” on the continuing question of his duel-citizenship, according to the Star newspaper.
“If nobody is questioning my loyalty, what is the point?” he said, adding that anyone who doubts his commitment to Canada should keep their “opinions to themselves.”
This shows his lack of concern for an important subject. This, to me, reveals much about him. An insensitivity and certainly, an unwillingness to grasp that there are indeed more doubts out there regarding his loyalty. If you are regarded as a citizen of a country, then I presume you get all benefits attached to same. There must be quite an attachment to france and indeed, isnt that the origin of our dilemna’s here? Going back a century or two granted, but we did battle with france and we are still battling their ancestors on some fronts. Call it fallout if you wish. The whole picture is that Mr. Dion is not only representing french, he is representing english citizens. The stone gathers more moss when we look at it this way. Who knows where it could lead.
The present Governor-General renounced her french citizenship because she realized the enormity of her elevation. She showed respect for other opinions regarding her loyalty to this country.
It is alleged that Mr. Dion even keeps an apartment base in France.
Wake up Mr. Dion. Take off your rose coloured glasses.
I encourage our government to expedite their “look” at duel citizenship as questions around it magnify by the day.

If Di-Yawn is allowed to continue to campaign without renouncing his foreign citizenship, it allows a terrifying and dangerous precedent to be set which could lead to a future subversion of our state by an enemy nation.

Dion underestimates the passion of the people on this issue.
Dual citizenship might be all well and good for ordinary citizens, but when it comes to the leader of the country, there should be no question of divided loyalties.
kateland has it right.

I actually doubt Dion has secret loyalties to France (maybe I’m naive) but for optice alone ditch the French citizenship. This one is a no-brainer and he should have ditched it before he ran.
And hey if Dion wants to be PM, be prepared to hear lots of people’s opinions. This isn’t the socialist empire some nouveau Liberals are hoping for in which everyone can do whatever they want and not be questioned. *sigh* What ever happened to classical liberalism?
